MCP Client / Tester
Nidra can connect to any local Model Context Protocol (MCP) server over the stdio transport. Create an MCP connection by entering the server command and its arguments, then connect to inspect what the server exposes.
Browse capabilities
After connecting, Nidra lists the server's Tools and Resources. Select a tool to view its description and input schema, or select a resource to inspect it.
Invoke tools
Nidra generates a schema-driven input form from each tool's JSON Schema. Fill in the fields and invoke the tool without hand-writing a request. Use the Form / JSON toggle to switch to raw JSON when you need an escape hatch for unusual or deeply nested inputs.
Tool results appear in the standard response viewer. Connection and invocation edits follow the same Save and Revert workflow as the rest of Nidra.
Current limitations
Version 1 supports local servers using a command and arguments over stdio. The following are not yet supported:
- HTTP or SSE transport
- Prompts
- Sampling
- Conduit integration
